Kansai Area Pass
This pass is ideal if you are travelling only in the area of Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara and Himeji, including to and from Kansai International Airport.
NOT VALID on Shinkansen(Bullet trains).
Kansai Wide Area Pass
This pass includes the areas of Kansai, Wakayama, Kinosaki Onsen and Okayama. It also includes the “Nozomi” Bullet train (from Osaka to Okayama), and the Kansai Airport express “Haruka” between Kyoto and Kansai International Airport via Osaka (non-reserved seat).
NOT VALID on the Tokaido Shinkansen (Bullet train Shin Osaka-Kyoto, Maibara).
Both the Kansai passes can be bought on this website, reserved online at JR West or within Japan, at JTB offices and most JR West stations.
